Accessibility

This website is built so that everyone can use it, whatever device or assistive technology they use.

Our commitment

Silvia wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, magnification, or captions. The site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we have done

Pages work with a keyboard alone, with a visible outline showing where you are, and a "Skip to content" link at the top of every page. Headings, labels and landmarks are marked up so screen readers can announce them. Every photo has a text description. Text and buttons meet contrast requirements in both the dark and the light look.

Moving content can be stopped: the videos and the scrolling school names have pause buttons, and they stay still if your device is set to reduce motion. The site can be zoomed to 200% and used on any screen size, and it is available in English and Spanish.

We check the site with automated accessibility testing and by hand with a keyboard.

Known limitations

The school visit video has spoken words and no captions yet. Product photos and the logo sheets on the Collaborations page come from brands and partners as images; the names of every school, salon suite and salon are also written out for screen readers.
